For The Moments That No Certification Or Degree Prepared You For

Built by a Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer, Women’s Fitness Specialist, and former collegiate athlete with 7+ years of coaching experience working with female athletes and their families. You know how to coach, train, or treat these athletes, but when she's concerned about her missed periods, pushing back on food conversations, and asking questions you weren't trained to answer...that's where confidence turns into guessing. This course takes both personal and professional experience and translates it into a 6-pillar framework, so you know exactly what to say and do in those moments without ever stepping outside your scope.

Move Beyond the Basics of Female Athlete Care

You've fielded the tournament fueling questions as best you can, or maybe you've watched an athlete push through a workout on empty wondering if nutrition was the missing piece of her program. You've told a parent that their daughter is 'fine' when you weren't totally sure that was true, or maybe you've cleared an athlete for return-to-play and still wondered if something nutritional was quietly working against her recovery. You've done the job well by every measure your training or treatment actually covered.

But you also know (quietly) that you could be doing more for your female athletes. Fewer preventable injuries. A regular, healthy cycle instead of one that mysteriously disappears mid-season. Faster recovery between games. Performing at her best without carrying home a body comment that sticks for years.

Most of you get real education on the basics: how to manage an injury once it happens, general nutrition talking points, how to recover properly, how to come up with a game plan, etc. But what almost nobody gets is the nuance: why she keeps getting hurt in the same spot, why her energy crashes at the same point in every game, why the advice that worked for her teammate isn't working for her. That nuance, the specific decision-making that actually moves an athlete from just getting by to THRIVING, is exactly the gap CFAN™ closes.

One Complete 360-Degree Approach To The Female Athlete

01

Fueling that actually
works

(So she stops second-guessing snacks and tournament advice). You'll know exactly how to talk food, energy, and performance nutrition without overstepping into meal-planning territory that isn't yours. Learn up-to-date evidence on how to best coach and guide your female athletes without ever having to Google a nutrition fact ever again.

02

Injury-smart training
knowledge

(So you catch risk before it becomes a season-ending injury). Understand the female-specific injury risks your sport education never covered, and know when your training plan needs to change. Also learn how the other variables (nutrition, hydration, sleep, cycles, etc.) play a pivotal role in their training abilities and injury prevention so that they can be addressed as a WHOLE athlete, not just one who performs on the field.

03

Hydration and recovery
habits that stick

(So you catch risk before it becomes a season-ending injury). Understand the female-specific injury risks your sport education never covered, and know when your training plan needs to change. Also learn how the other variables (nutrition, hydration, sleep, cycles, etc.) play a pivotal role in their training abilities and injury prevention so that they can be addressed as a WHOLE athlete, not just one who performs on the field.

04

Confidence around cycle
health

(So you're not the coach who goes silent when it comes up). This is the pillar most coaches have avoided their whole career. You'll walk away actually able to have this conversation with the confidence in knowing how to coach her through it. This is incredibly important and will make you stand out above all other coaches/professionals because you can put the discomfort aside and step up with the knowledge on how to handle those tough conversations.

05

A mindset lens that catches burnout before it costs you an athlete

(So perfectionism and body image issues don't slide by unnoticed). You'll recognize the signals other coaches miss while also knowing exactly the right tools and skills to pull on to help coach her through them. No more trying to manage with an athlete's loss of motivation by just pushing her harder. Because addressing how she thinks is going to directly impact her behaviors and actions.

06

Scope of practice clarity

(So you always know when to educate and when to refer). This is the pillar that protects both you and your athletes, every single time. Learn the exact framework to follow when to stay in your scope versus refer out to another professional with the tools to find those professionals near you.

Who This Is For

A player asked you something about fueling before a tournament, and you gave an answer you weren't fully sure of. You watched another ACL tear happen and wondered, quietly, if there was something you could have caught earlier. A parent asked about her daughter's missed period, and you didn't know if that was a 'call the doctor' conversation or a 'this happens to all female athletes' answer'. You're not looking for permission to care more for your athletes...you already do that enough. You're looking for the knowledge to back it up.

Maybe you've also turned away a potential client because nutrition wasn't something you could confidently offer in her program. Maybe a parent chose another team, another trainer, or another clinic specifically because they wanted someone who could speak to the whole picture. Every conversation you can't have with confidence is a client, a player, or a patient someone else picks up instead.

This is for the coach, trainer, or physical therapist ready to:

  • Answer female athlete and parent questions on fueling, training, cycles, hydration, mindset and sleep/recovery without freezing or deflecting

  • Recognize early warning signs of RED-S, overtraining, under-fueling, and disordered eating patterns before they become a crisis

  • Build a coaching culture around what the body can do, not what it looks like on the outside

  • Know exactly when to step in and when to refer out, so you're never guessing at your own scope of practice

  • Retain the clients, players, and patients you already have, and become the referral every parent recommends to the next one

  • Grow your revenue by signing/treating more clients or coaching more athletes while expanding your program's reach, not just fighting to hold onto the ones you already have

If you've been piecing this together from podcasts, old coaching clinics, and Google searches at 10pm, this is the certification course that finally puts it ALL in one place for you.

Meet Your Coach

Colby King, RD, LDN, CPT-WFS ~ Founder of CFAN™

I once was the female athlete who struggled with under-fueling, disordered eating, body dysmorphia, perfectionism, and all-or-nothing thinking, and the coaches, trainers, and PTs around me weren't equipped to handle any of it. So I struggled silently for years on my own until I decided to dedicate my career to closing that exact gap, so no other female athlete has to go through what I did.

I built my nutrition and fitness coaching business over five years ago to work with the female athletes/former athletes who walked in the same shoes I did. Now it's time to go one layer deeper to the coaches, trainers, and physical therapists working directly with these athletes who were never taught how to handle nutrition, cycle health, mindset, or body image. That was never their fault. It's a broken system and CFAN™ exists to change it.

Results From Using the CFAN™ Framework

"Beyond her extensive knowledge as a dietitian"

"For the past 4+ years, Colby has been an invaluable partner to Bottlenoses/Canteraz Soccer Academy. She has provided amazing nutrition guidance to all of our youth female athletes. Beyond her extensive knowledge as a dietitian, her methodology and the way she delivers her program have been absolutely excellent. We highly recommend Colby to any youth organization or coaching staff looking to create a holistic approach to human and athlete development." - Oscar Y. (test user & founder of Bottlenoses)

"Highly recommend this"

"I've been coaching female athletes for about 10 years now and never learned any of this stuff. It feels so nice now to have the knowledge and skills to address the hard questions/scenarios that come up when working with these athletes. If this certification course is even 10% of what Colby has taught me in our time working together, you better jump onboard ASAP. It will be well worth the time, money, and effort it requires trust me. 10/10 highly recommend this." - Joe S. (test user)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long is the CFAN™ certification course?

16 weeks, self-paced overall within a weekly drip schedule, plus eight live bi-weekly Zoom integration calls throughout.

Q: Is this right for me if I've been coaching for 15+ years?

Yes, especially if you've been coaching that long. This isn't about your coaching ability, it's about the piece of education most coaching paths never included.

Q: What if I'm not a dietitian or nutrition professional?

You don't need to be. CFAN™ isn't training you to become a nutrition expert, it's training you to recognize patterns, ask better questions, and know exactly when to refer to one.

Q: Does this count for CEUs?

CFAN™ is currently pursuing CEU accreditation with all major bodies including: NASM, ACE, and NSCA. Your certificate and badge are yours upon completion regardless, and CEU credit will be available to you once accreditation is finalized.

Q: What does it cost?

Standard pricing for the 16-week live cohort is $997 paid in full or 4 monthly payments of $349.50. I am currently working on creating a lower-tier option for this course that will be hands-off and entirely self-paced - stay tuned for pricing information (join the waitlist so you'll receive inside scoop info when this is launched).
